2014 Napa Valley Rosé winemaking: "I find that the standard process of siphoning juice from a red fermentation to create rosé can produce wines that are astringent and lacking elegance. I make our Syrah Rosé similar to how we make our white wines; I gently press the whole clusters using a white wine press until the color and depth of flavor I am looking for is achieved. The juice is then fermented in stainless steel at a cool temperature to preserve the delicate flavors. The finished wine is well balanced and bursting with fruit. Adding grenache to the syrah add body and gives the aroma more dimension." Winemaker, Elaine St. Clair roots: The 2014 vintage is a blend of three Napa Valley vineyards. The syrah comes primarily from the Oak Knoll District, with a small portion from our Estate Vineyard in Coombsville.
